Description

DAY 1

ARRIVAL AT CUZCO

Reception at the airport or bus station upon arrival in Cuzco and transfer to your hotel. Free day to acclimatize and do activities on your own such as visiting churches and museums.

DAY 2

CITY TOUR CUZCO AND NEARBY RUINS (KENKO-PUCA-PUCARA, TAMBOMACHAY, SACSAYHUAMAN, ETC.)

In the afternoon we will visit the city of Cusco touring the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Korikancha. Then, we will leave the city to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco, famous for its huge carved stones joined with amazing precision to form the outer walls. Some of these stones measure more than 9 m / 30 feet high and weigh more than 350 tons. Return to the center of Cusco.

DAY 3

SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

We will start in the morning at 7:30 am the excursion to the "Sacred Valley of the Incas", a succession of picturesque villages, agricultural terraces and archaeological sites. The typical Indian market of Pisac.

In the afternoon, we will pass through the towns of Calca and Urubamba to reach the Inca Fortress and the Citadel of Ollantaytambo.

On the way we will visit the picturesque Andean village of Chinchero, where the remains of what was the royal hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui are located. We admire its well-preserved Inca Wall in the Plaza de Armas.

We will visit the beautiful colonial temple built on Inca foundations, with interesting frescoes in the portico. We will continue to Aguas Calientes for the night.

DAY 4

MACHU PICCHU: THE LOST CITY OF THE INCAS

The day begins with an early morning ascent to the famous Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, also known as "The Lost City of the Incas".

A 30-minute bus ride, up 6 km of winding road, to the incredible Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, we will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel.

After the tour of approximately 2 hours, you will have time to walk around the archaeological site at your leisure.

After this you can go down by bus to Machu Picchu town where you will have all the time available to do some other activities, such as visiting the streets of the city, visit the hot springs and relax, also the Manuel Chavez Ballon Museum, any of these visits can be done on your own and assume the cost of income that this implies. Lunch included.

A very important note to take into consideration is that you must be at the train station half an hour before departure. Your return train departs from Machu Picchu Pueblo station. Once on the train, you will arrive at Ollantaytambo station our transfer will be waiting to take you to your hotel in Cusco.

DAY 5

7-COLOR MOUNTAIN

We will arrive at your lodge early in the morning at approximately 5:00 am to begin the adventure.

Live a fantastic experience that stands out for its incredible landscapes of this high Andean area. You will be able to see llamas, alpacas or vicuñas along the way. The trekking route or the transfer on horseback is also a memorable experience. Dare to choose to walk or horseback ride the last 6 kilometers of road up and down hills and mountains at 5,036 meters above sea level. Enjoy one of the most complete and safe tours in the 7 Colors Mountain. Lunch included.

We will return to Cusco at approximately 5:00 pm.

DAY 6

HUMANTAY LAGOON

We will pick you up at your hotel between 04:30 a.m. and 05:00 a.m. - 05.00 a.m. to then travel by transport to the town of Mollepata in the lush valley of the Apurimac River, after a deserved breakfast to fill us with energy we will continue our journey to Soraypampa (3900 masl) after a short rest, we will begin our hike to Humantay Lake, located at 4200 mt, after the ascent of 1 hour and 30 minutes approximately, we will be able to appreciate such a wonderful place and we will return to the town of Mollepata for the hour of our lunch, when we return we will see beautiful panoramic views of the snowy peaks and later we will be transferred to our city of Cusco at 5:00 pm approximately:00 pm approximately. Transfer to your lodging.

DAY 7

MARAS AND MORAY

In the morning at 8 am we will pick you up at your lodging to visit the following points:

The town of Maras will be our first point of visit, which was of great importance during the Viceroyalty, declared Villa de San Francisco de Asis (it was the main salt supplier of the southern highlands), as evidenced by the church and the mansions that still retain the coats of arms of indigenous nobility on their facades.

Las Salineras de Maras our second point of visit belongs to the town of Maras, which was of great importance during the Viceroyalty, was the main supplier of salt in the southern highlands, as evidenced by the church and the houses that still retain the coats of arms of indigenous nobility on their facades.

The salt mines of Maras surprise the visitor with more than three thousand wells that are still being worked by more than 360 families, who have inherited this custom and artisanal extractive work; the commercialization of the salt is in charge of the Maras Sal association, in charge of looking after the interests of the community since the end of the 80s.

Our tour ends visiting the circular terraces of Moray, which are a sample of how the Andean man defied nature and took advantage of their geographical environment to use it for their benefit, these circular terraces served as an agricultural laboratory that allowed to obtain a variety of species of potatoes, corn, among other products.

At the end of the tour we will return to the city of Cusco.
