Overview

Enjoy the second deepest canyon in the world. With this full day tour you will be able to appreciate all the main points of view of the Colca Canyon from the hand of excellent bilingual guides with extensive experience in the canyon, you will also have the opportunity to appreciate the famous and majestic Condor birds in their natural habitat. During this tour you will be able to see the pre-Inca terraces along the valley and take pictures with llamas and alpacas. You will also have the option of enjoying the natural hot springs in a nearby village.

Itinerary

  1. 3:00 – 3:30 a.m.

    I'll pick you up at the various hostels for the trip to the city of Chivay

  2. 6:30–7:00 a.m.

    We'll have breakfast and then head to “La Cruz del Cóndor”

  3. 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

     Cruz del Cóndor Lookout

    Here, we’ll be able to admire the flight of the condors and the depth of the Colca Canyon for about an hour. During the tour, we’ll take in the beautiful scenery of the canyon, which blends with the vegetation and the local people.

  4. 9:30–11:00 a.m.

     Return to Chivay

    On the way back to Chivay, we’ll make several stops at notable sites in the area, such as the Antahuilque overlooks, where we’ll view the Inca and pre-Inca terraces, and the Choquetico overlook, where we’ll see the hanging tombs.

  5.   Visit the town of Yanke

    We'll be able to enjoy the relaxing 38°C hot springs; we'll stay here for about an hour.

  6. 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

    Lunch in Chivay (at the passenger's expense)

  7. 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

     Return by bus to Arequipa

    On our return to the city of Arequipa, we’ll make stops at the most notable sites, such as Patapampa, located at 4,910 meters above sea level. From here, we’ll be able to see three different volcanoes: Hualcahualca, Sabancaya, and Ampampato; and the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where we’ll be able to see South American camelids such as vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas.

     Drop off at the respective lodging
